St Augustine, Jacksonville, Mobile Marine Aluminum Welding
Welcome to my Marine Aluminum Portable Welding page.
Along with this being an Aluminum job, it was also a Marine Welding St Augustine, Jacksonville Mobile Welding job.
A customer sailing along coming down our east coast, called me and wanted to know when he sailed into port, if I could repair his aluminum steps while his yacht was tied in the marina. Of course I could.
ABOVE: This is what his aluminum steps were supposed to look like, but when I got there they were laying flat on the dock broken and non functional.
ABOVE: His single stability leg had broken off his aluminum steps. The Tab his leg pivoted upon had snapped off.
ABOVE: There is the half tab still on the underside of his steps. The outer half is missing.
ABOVE: I built a new Pivot Tab and had to join it to the old broken half Tab. Then I had to remove any extra aluminum that got in the way of the leg being pinned back on and being able to pivot.
ABOVE: After I was done repairing it in the Marina, the customer was remounting it to his 145" yacht. In this picture, he is remounting the aluminum handrails back onto the aluminum steps.
ABOVE: The single stability leg rides on the exterior wall of the yacht. The leg controls the angle of the steps meaning to keep them always horizontal no matter which way the boat is swaying from wind or waves.
As the yacht rocks back and forth with waves, the steps change angle compared to the yacht so the steps always stay perfectly horizontal and level even when the yacht isn't, incase someone was on them as the boat is rocking.
Can you imagine being on steps going up or down, and they are changing angles, tipping up or down while you're trying to maintain balance? Try that with two heavy bags of groceries in your arms.
Since the customer had no car or pickup truck when he sailed into town, it wasn't feasible for him to take the steps to a marine welding shop. Plus he needed them fixed on Sunday so as he would not have to layover another day for the normal week to begin.
If the work cant come to us, and often times its not feasible, our St Augustine, Jacksonville Mobile Portable Welding Trailer full of tools can come to you.
Our St Johns County Mobile Welding service is so portable, we can bring our portable/mobile welder machines right up and onto the boat or yacht. We can fix stainless or aluminum right in the kitchen of the restaurant.
If your work cant come to me, which of course is less expensive, then call me and I can bring the Mobile Welding trailer to you.
FYI Mobile is 33% more expensive than you bringing your work to my shop.
